The purpose of this communication is to notify the Child and Adult Care Food Program sponsors that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Services Farm to School Program released a revised Procuring Local Foods for Child Nutrition Programs Guide. The guide provides an overview of federal procurement principles and addresses topics related to sourcing and purchasing local foods and highlights a variety of mechanisms that schools may use to purchase local products in accordance with federal procurement regulations.
