Click here to help us get to World Championship!
Our team recently competed at the New England District Championship with teams from all around NE. We were ranked 37th out of 64 teams at the event after qualification matches and were picked by the 3rd seed alliance with FRC 133 B.E.R.T. and FRC 125 NUTRONs. We made it to the semifinals where we were knocked out by the 2nd seed alliance after 3 matches.

SCOUTING
Scouting at this event went well for our team. Although we were not in a position to use the data to select elimination alliance partners, we were able to use the data on teams for match strategy with our partners. For example, in the quarterfinals we used our data on our opposing alliance teams to decide how to play our matches against them. We also scouted our own robot so that our team could see what we need to improve on.
ROBOT PERFORMANCE

During this competition, we continued to work on our double climbing capability. We updated our design for the forks as well as the climber. We did not use the forks in any of our matches since they were partly malfunctioning. We then had to change the orientation of our climber to allow us to climb with another bot on the bar.

Our robot performed well for the most part during all our qualification matches, except for some early problems with our autonomous mode not operating correctly. Our software and electrical team did figure out what happened with our auto, and fixed it so we are now ready for world championship.

COMPETITION MATCHES

Our qualification matches at this event paired us with random alliance partners. We finished 7-5-0 and although our robot had performed well, sometimes we were against a better alliance pairing.

In the playoffs, our alliance was able to win our quarterfinals matches without any issues. When we advanced to semifinals, we won our first match and felt confident that we would win the second match, but our our encoder wire attached to our intake broke and made our intake completely useless. We built a new wire for a temporary fix which also broke, and although we played good defense in addition to our alliance partners offense, we lost the next two matches and were eliminated as semifinalists.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Due to our success this season at our district events and the district championsip, our team earned our way to the Championship by getting enough District points to qualify. We finished in 11th place out of all of New England, with 209 points. We were very happy with our ranking and that we are going to FIRST Championship in Detroit!

We will be preparing a few improvements and fixes for the Championship, including more work on the climber, speeding up our elevator, and a larger cable carrier to better protect our wiring. These changes will be applied to CATWOMAN in the pits on Wednesday night so she should be ready to spring into action when matches begin on Thursday.
