Not supporting maternal and mental health is a living nightmare for too many in our district.
Over the past 4 years when I've reached out to the Congressman's office, I was told maternal health wasn't a priority and never received a follow up on the deficit of mental health and substance abuse services for our district.
In 2015-2016 from the red kitchen table of my house, I ran a national grassroots movement to help secure the first ever federal grant program passed for families facing mental health challenges during pregnancy and postpartum.
In between baby naps and preschool pick-ups, I saw how these issues directly affected both myself and my family, and how the lack of awareness and access to services was affecting my community and the health networks in our district.
I have fought hard at both the State and Federal level to make sure hospitals like Lahey Beverly receive appropriate funding to service our friends and family in the district facing mental health and substance abuse challenges.
I believe the 6th district deserves a Congresswoman who will proactively identify federal funding for the benefit of its most vulnerable populations. I am running for Congress to be that representative- one that puts the people of the district first and brings results back home because politics has too many tricks especially at the national level. Please help me get there!
Have a Happy and Safe Halloween. Please remember if you're going to be out and about drive safely and watch out for all those little ghosts and goblins.
