IVORY COAST AND MADAGASCAR ANALYZE GENDER IN NAP PROCESSES 
As part of their commitment to reducing gender inequality, the governments of both Ivory Coast and Madagascar are looking into ways their countries’ NAP processes can promote the integration of gender issues into climate change adaptation. SECOND BRIEF IN ALIGNMENT SERIES HIGHLIGHTS KEY CONSIDERATIONS IN CLIMATE-RESILIENT DEVELOPMENT
When it comes to climate-resilient development, many international processes share similar objectives. Our second brief builds on the first brief in the series—which focuses on defining alignment and presenting the rationale for aligning these different, yet related, processes—and looks at practical considerations associated with initiating the alignment of policy processes to achieve common goals. THREE WAYS THE NAP PROCESS CAN ENHANCE ADAPTATION IN NDCS BY 2020
Current Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are not ambitious enough to secure the Paris Agreement’s temperature goal of “well below 2°C.” In 2020, countries will have the opportunity to update and enhance the climate commitments outlined in their NDCs. Learn more about how alignment with the NAP process provides an additional opportunity to make the NDCs more ambitious and valuable for implementation.

ZIMBABWE LAUNCHES ITS NAP READINESS PROJECT 
On February 20, over 100 participants gathered in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, to launch Zimbabwe’s NAP Readiness Project, which was financed by the Green Climate Fund. This roadmap outlines what next steps are needed from the Government of Zimbabwe in order to move the NAP process ahead. Learn more about Zimbabwe’s NAP process in our latest guest blog.  

FOLLOW-UP RESOURCES FROM ETHIOPIA’S NAP ASSEMBLY NOW AVAILABLE  
Last January, the government of Ethiopia hosted its first NAP Assembly, bringing key government actors and development partners together in dialogue on the transition to implementation of the country’s NAP. This latest landing page consolidates presentations delivered throughout the event as well as pictures.

NETWORK SECRETARIAT IN ACTION: NAP EXPO 2019
  • From April 8 to 12, adaptation specialists from around the world will participate in NAP Expo as part of the Korea Global Adaptation Week. Experts from the NAP Global Network Secretariat will be attending. See the full list of events we’ll be participating in here.
