IWOMP paper submission deadline extended
The IWOMP'24 call for papers deadline has been extended, with this year's theme "Advancing OpenMP for Future Accelerators." We are interested in all OpenMP-related unpublished research, but particularly on this theme detailing OpenMP extensions, implementations, and applications that facilitate accelerators.

CEA has joined the OpenMP ARB

CEA is a prominent French government-funded research organization and a key player in research, development, and innovation. With their expertise, they hope to contribute as much as possible to the evolution of the OpenMP standard for future generations of supercomputers, with a particular emphasis on heterogeneous machines and portability.

New OpenMP API Examples doc
A new version of the OpenMP API Examples document with over 150 code examples is available, updated with new features from the OpenMP 5.2 Specification. The following new examples have been added:
- Orphaned and nested loop constructs
- All variable category for the defaultmap clause
- Target update construct
- Indirect clause for indirect procedure calls in a target region

The EU exaFOAM project investigated several methods by which OpenMP could be used to optimize OpenFOAM, a popular open-source CFD software package. They reached one of their successes by using OpenMP and Unified Memory.
