IWOMP 2025 Call For Papers

It's time to write OpenMP papers again! This year’s workshop theme is “OpenMP: Balancing Productivity and Performance Portability.” The workshop welcomes topics on all subjects concerning OpenMP, but especially on how the OpenMP API strikes a balance between ease of use and maximizing performance, particularly in the context of heterogeneous systems, exascale computing, and real-time workloads.

Submission deadline: Friday, May 16, 2025 (AoE).

New Course on OpenMP

On April 29-30, the Vlaams Supercomputer Center will hold a hybrid course (online and in-person) that deals with the features and pitfalls of OpenMP in detail. This course covers the OpenMP API up to version 4.0. The course contents are:
  • Overview and execution model
  • Work sharing directives
  • Data environment
  • Pitfalls
  • Verification of OpenMP applications
  • OpenMP 4.0 overview

OpenMP 6.0 Features in Intel's Fortran compiler


The Intel® Fortran Compiler has expanded its OpenMP 6.0 standard support by introducing the WORKDISTRIBUTE construct to distribute work across threads efficiently, and the INTERCHANGE construct to reorder loops in a loop nest, boosting parallel performance and code optimization.

Flow Science Software released a new version of their OpenMP-enabled FLOW3D welding simulation software.
