Florida Redistricting: Proposals would place Polk County in new U.S. House district
Polk County would sit within a single, newly created congressional district under proposed plans released Wednesday afternoon by a Florida Senate committee.
The Redistricting Committee revealed four proposed congressional maps, and all four put Polk County inside the new District 28.
If one of the proposed maps were to take effect, Polk County would lose District 9, held by Rep. Darren Soto, D-Kissimmee, and District 17, held by Rep. Greg Steube, R-Sarasota. For full story, click here.
