It's official: After weeks of waiting to see if we'd get into the first Democratic debates in Miami, Florida next week, NBC has turned us down due to "space constraints."

Translation 1: We're snobby elitists and progressive, independent outlet Status Coup isn't welcome among our kind

Translation 2: We're afraid of Status Coup and Jordan Chariton's truth-telling

Remember, the last time Jordan was 'allowed' to attend a debate he had his famous Donna Brazile moment where he challenged her on leaking town hall questions to Hillary Clinton's campaign.

That's not the sort of thing the liberal elite in media want happening.

Thus,

Status Coup is barred from attending...

(but you could still send us there)

We've pointed out to NBC why it is wrong to ban a journalistic outlet like Status Coup, and that their excuse about space constraints is bullshit. But we aren't going to back down and change who we are just to gain access to things. That would be totally hypocritical and fly in the face of everything we've promised you.

Unfortunately, we'd already booked plane tickets and a hotel for Jordan and Ty for the Miami trip because we assumed (you know what they say about assumptions!) that NBC would be fair and let us in.

Ty's round-trip ticket from LA cost $600 and Jordan's from NY cost $400. Not to mention the hotel at $120 a night.

As of now, we will probably try to cancel our tickets and recoup our cost as we were mostly going for the ability to challenge campaign officials, establishment candidates, and their hangers-on (i.e. Donna Brazile). BUT, if we can cover the costs of the trip, we'll go anyway and interview the voters outside that won't get a voice from the corporate media.

There will be lots of supporters of the various candidates outside of the debate hall and ideally lots of opportunities to interview campaign staff a la a makeshift 'spin room.' I think it would be a big opportunity for us to still be there where the other cameras AREN'T.

But, we need your help if you still want us to be able to go.

Do you want to see what REAL voters have to say, vs. the wealthy elite who will be in the debate audience?

Do you want to see how campaign staff and political operatives will answer Jordan's tough questions?

Then send Jordan and Ty to Miami, via our GoFundMe! We might not be INSIDE where the corporate stooges are, but we'll be where the PEOPLE are. And that's what Status Coup is all about anyway.

You could be funding the next Donna Brazile moment, which sent shockwaves through the political world.

Whether it's $5 or $25 or $100, your contribution will keep us on the campaign trail doing what really matters. SUPPORT us however you can via http://GoFundMe.com/status-coup-news

We don't want to have to cancel our tickets because there are a million opportunities that will be missed. Show NBC that we are REAL news, not to be discounted. Show them by sending us to Miami with any amount you can afford.

We're looking to raise $1,500 for this trip specifically, and I know we can get there with your support.

NBC sucks. There, I said it!

But Status Coup rocks and there's nothing else out there like us. If you think we need to be outside of the debates to show you what's really going on, outside of what corporate media will show you, then donate now: http://GoFundMe.com/status-coup-news

P.S. We want to raise $1,500 for this trip to show corporate media what's what and to interview real people. Otherwise, we'll just have to stay home and it will be a lost opportunity. Donate today so Status Coup can shine at (outside of!) the debates and make political waves against the media elites: http://GoFundMe.com/status-coup-news
