In 2019, the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights  was able to accomplish major victories from advocating for the veto of SB 15 bill on April 30th, hosting a community forum on October 2nd about the 287(g) program to inform community members about its effect on immigrants and launching our rapid response team on June 23rd : the "ICE chasers"! These are some of the accomplishments of 2019 and everything was made possible through donors and volunteers who believe in our vision.
GLAHR

In addition, we were able to outreach close to 12,430 community members and informed them about their constitutional rights and, through our civic engagement campaign, we reached 1,104 community members. We canvassed many apartments and held precious conversations with community members, regarding the importance of being a power electorate for the 2020 elections and for the many elections to come both nationally and locally. In order to celebrate our work throughout the year, we hosted our End of the Year Celebration on December 14, where we recognized our community members for their dedication and willingness to come on board to make GLAHR’s vision possible.

In our first community meeting we celebrated el “Dia de los Reyes Magos” by sharing the bread cutting of la Rosca and share upcoming events with our members. On every Thursday at 12 pm please tune in to Radio Migrante for the “GLAHRIADORXS” show!

Furthermore, we hosted a Know Your Rights workshop through our ICE FREE ZONE campaign in the first weeks of January.

Our activities keep on piling as we gear up to continue the work of our campaign “Soy GA” as we strategize and prepare more material to inform everyone about this upcoming election.  Join our lucha and follow us on our social media and sign up to volunteer. The time for change is now and together we will win if we overtake the streets and inform our communities.
