Hey,
I hear Jordan’s been hyping this up—and here I am.

He’s my brother, my friend, and someone I deeply admire as a journalist and person.
Last week, I got a call from Jordan that was meant to be. He and I have been across the country together, been arrested together, done countless videos together, and even lived together for a time in New York City.
After an overnight red-eye flight from Los Angeles, I’ve spent the day with Jordan and Jenn running around an undisclosed location trying to dig deep into something very troubling in our country—and it’s like I never left. What we’re doing is what’s been missing in media—even independent media.
I’m so happy to join Jordan now and Status Coup once it’s launched. We’re going to push these stories forward and make sure the truth gets out there. I’m driven by being on the ground to help provoke change and with Status Coup, there’s room to make that happen. It’s probably the only place it can.
I’ll also be doing some reporting myself, so stay tuned for that.
You’ll hear a lot more from me soon, but for now here’s a note from Jordan:
"I saw up close and personal Ty's journalistic and technical skills while we were on the road for nearly a year. He's got the rare mix of vision, talent, and tenaciousness. He's passionate about covering and exposing the forgotten stories and communities as well as confronting power—as he did on the ground in St. Louis before cops threw our ass in jail!. I appreciate the audience's financial support that made it possible to bring Ty on board. Frankly, we will need a lot more of that to keep it going!"
