With the new year, come a plethora of new series that makes public TV the place for great drama, mystery, and more!  This special edition of The Nooz highlights some of the upcoming show you won't want to miss! (Hint: They all start on January 8, so get your DVR ready!)

After an epic and intriguing second season of Miss Scarlet and The DukeSeason 2, fans are already looking forward to Season 3, coming to MASTERPIECE. 

A disappearing magician, police corruption, a potential life-changing financial windfall, and an explosive season finale — Eliza has her share of fresh and surprising challenges as she struggles to build her detective agency. Aside from her vexing cases, Scarlet has to contend with growing competition from a rival agency.

And as always, Inspector William Wellington remains Scarlet’s most intractable mystery. When a beautiful woman from childhood catches William’s eye, will this signal the end of Miss Scarlet and The Duke’s working relationship?

Season 3 opens with our beloved Skeldale House family in the spring of 1939. Our favorite Darrowby residents are facing plenty of changes, especially James and Helen, who are embarking on the next exciting chapter of their lives together, as a couple and two parts of the Skeldale family.

After being offered a new role with even more responsibilities by Siegfried, James pushes himself harder than ever before. But will some unexpected challenges push him to his breaking point?

Meanwhile, Tristan is now an officially qualified veterinarian. The younger Farnon sets his mind to taking his work — and his personal life (including, dare we say, romance?) — more seriously. Though he is still Tristan Farnon, so don’t expect all work and no play…

Vienna Blood returns for a third season of diabolical new cases for Dr. Max Liebermann and Detective Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt to solve.

Set in 1900s Vienna — a hotbed of philosophy, science, and art, where cultures clash and ideas collide in the city’s grand cafes and opera houses.

Season 3 finds Max and Oskar once again thrust into the dark underbelly of glittering Viennese society, with episodes set in a luxury fashion house, the Chinese antiquities trade, and the budding world of cinema.
Sunday, January 8 at 11:00 p.m.

Astrid Nielsen works in the library of the judicial police. She has Asperger's syndrome. With an incredible memory she excels at analyzing files of ongoing investigations.

The district commander decides to use it to the fullest, entrusting her with very complex investigations which have remained unsolved to date.
