Dear Program Operator,

The purpose of this communication is to notify the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsors that the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is aware of the current challenges sponsors are facing due to supply chain shortages, inflation cost per meal, and vendors exercising their right to terminate current contractual agreements due to business closures.

It has come to our attention that due to these challenges some vendors are choosing to redirect their operational focus and/or ceasing to provide CACFP meals. If your agency is encountering challenges with inflation costs or a vendor closing their operations, please reach out to the Community Procurement Unit for additional guidance.
