Dear Program Operator,
On September 7, 2022, the Community Procurement Unit announced that the Form ID: CPU 21: Micropurchase Threshold Self-Certification resource document was available in the Download Forms section of the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS). The communication is located at Increased Micropurchase Threshold Self-Certification.
The purpose of the Micropurchase Self-Certification document is to provide Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) operators with a step-by-step process for how to increase their agency’s micropurchase threshold. If your agency has a more restrictive local threshold in place, this document will not apply to your agency.
CACFP agencies that operate other Child Nutrition Programs (e.g., School Breakfast Program, National School Lunch Program, Summer Food Service Program) must ask the following questions: (1) Which program is the food being purchased for, and (2) Which funding source is being used to purchase the food?
The California Department of Social Services will issue additional policy guidance relative to CACFP agencies that operate multiple Child Nutrition Programs in the coming weeks.
