On July 17, 2018, the Bretton Woods Committee hosted a virtual conference U.S.-China Trade Tumult: Implications for Global Trade Rules. Featured speakers included Shang-Jin Wei, the N.T. Wang Professor of Chinese Business and Economy at Columbia University, and David Dollar, John L. Thornton China Center Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. Policy Update: U.S. Supreme Court to Hear IFC Case
Later this month, the U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case Budha Jam et. al. v. IFC (International Finance Corporation). The case will interpret the validity of immunities of international organizations under the U.S. International Organizations Immunities Act (“IOIA”).
