Do you have a passion for positive youth development? Forsyth County Extension / 4-H is looking for a part-time AmeriCorps State Member to serve local youth through hands-on programming and community engagement.

💼 What You’ll Do:

Support 4-H programming
Work directly with youth
Help grow tomorrow’s leaders!

📅 Position Dates:
September 2025 – August 31, 2026
📍 Local service in Forsyth County
🚌 Some transport of youth required
🌙 Occasional nights & weekends

💚 Benefits Include:
✔️ Monthly living allowance: $962.25
✔️ Education award: $3,697.50

✔️ Loan forbearance (if eligible)

🎓 High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license required.

🍎🥫 Join Forsyth County Extension/4-H in Fighting Hunger! 🥫🍎

From September 2–19, we’re hosting a Food Drive to support local food pantries right here in Forsyth County.

✅ Non-perishable items needed most: rice, canned vegetables and fruit, shelf-stable milk. and shelf-stable meals.
✅ Every donation makes a difference for families in our community.

📍 Drop-off location: Forsyth County Extension Office 

Together, we can stock shelves, spread kindness, and make sure no neighbor goes hungry. 💚

👉 Help us fill the shelves and show the power of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health in action!

Youth in 4th-8th grade this school year are invited to learn more about the Forsyth County 4-H Firepower BB Team at an interest meeting on Wednesday, October 9 at 7 p.m. at the Forsyth County Extension Office (5110 Piney Grove Rd).

Coaches will share important details about team expectations, safety, and cost. Practice schedules will be set after families discuss what works best for the group.

Participation on the BB team offers more than just learning how to safely handle a firearm. Shooting sports help youth:

·         Build focus and discipline.

·         Develop patience and perseverance as they work to improve accuracy.

·         Gain confidence by setting and reaching goals.

·         Learn teamwork and sportsmanship while competing alongside peers.

·         Understand the importance of safety and responsibility.

Calling all curious and competitive 4th–12th grade students! Ready to shop smart, think fast, and have fun? Consumer Judging is your chance to build real-world life skills.
Each week at the Forsyth County 4-H Office, you’ll train to become a savvy shopper—learning how to make smart choices when purchasing goods and services. This year, we will be focusing on headphones, jeans, chips/crunchy snacks, and streaming services. Plus, students will dive into the world of agriculture and marketing by creating their own commercial or PSA to promote one of Georgia’s biggest crops: cotton!
Cost for this program is $10
🗓 When: Monday nights, September 29–October 27 | 6:30PM–7:30PM
🏆 Contest Day: November 3 in Gainesville

🌟 Join Cloverbuds! 🌟
A fun-filled 4-H experience for K–3rd grade students!

📅 Meetings: Second Tuesday of each month
Time: 7:00–8:00 PM
📍 Location: 5110 Piney Grove Road

This year, Cloverbuds will explore the wild world of adaptations—how animals and plants survive and thrive in their environments! Each meeting includes hands-on activities, stories, and creative projects designed just for younger learners. Registration for the year is $10. New club alert! There has been so much interest in our natural resource programming that we are broadening Conservation Club into Junior Master Naturalists!
Each month there will be a Master Naturalist speaker who will discuss some of the conservation projects occurring around the county.

Students from 4th-12th grade are welcome to attend; meetings are held on the second Monday of every month 6-7 pm. The location of these meetings will vary month to month to allow for hands-on learning. Registration is $10 for the school year. Are you looking for a fun and engaging community for your homeschool journey? Forsyth County 4-H is excited to start a Homeschool Club for the 2025 – 2026 school year. We will meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the UGA Extension office at 5110 Piney Grove Rd. Come connect with fellow homeschooling families, share resources, and participate in enriching activities. Whether you’re new to homeschooling or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome. The first meeting will be September 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM and the cost is $20. Register now! If you have questions about this club, contact Mrs. Alicia.

🚀 Mission Make-It: A STEM Adventure Awaits!
📅 September 13 | 📍 Rock Eagle 4-H Center
🎯 For 6th–8th Grade Students
Ready to innovate, create, and collaborate? Mission Make-It is a one-day, hands-on STEM event where youth team up to solve exciting engineering challenges. Held at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, the day features dynamic guest speakers, interactive exhibits led by high school 4-H’ers, and a themed team competition that will stretch your imagination!
💡 Thanks to generous funding, the cost is just $35, which includes:
🚌 Transportation from the Forsyth County Extension Office
🥪 Lunch
🔧 All materials and supplies
⏰ Meet at the Extension Office at 7:30 AM, we are usually back around 5PM
