Dr. Mason will show the latest data for different parts of the county and how covid 19 affects them.

PANELISTS

Lake County State's Attorney Mike Nerheim  
State's Attorney Nerheim will discuss how covid 19 has increased drug overdoses, domestic abuse and the effect on their many programs and how they are responding to the community.
 
Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg
Sheriff Idleburg will provide information on their Crisis Outreach And Response Team (COAST) initiative and efforts to expand and increase it. He will also address their work with other county agencies to focus on racial inequities in the justice system.
 
Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper 
Dr. Cooper will be discussing the changes his office has seen with the advent of covid 19 and how he is addressing those changes.

Sandra Gomez; Lake County Health Department
Ms. Gomez will bring information about trauma and covid 19. She will also provide information on how the LCHD is providing mental health services during the pandemic.

Dr. Mary Roberson; Northern Illinois Recovery Organization (NIRCO)
Dr. Roberson will discuss the impact of covid 19 on individuals and families in the community recovering from the effects of substance use disorder, criminal justice involvement, homelessness, and mental health issues.

Chelsea Laliberte Barnes; Live 4 Lali 
Ms. Barnes will explain what Liv4Lali does to minimize the health, legal and social harms associated with substance use disorder and how covid 19 has affected their work.
