Pledging to Protect Economy He Helped Fix, Balderson Seeks Re-Election

ZANESVILLE – As he filed to run for re-election today, Troy Balderson said he’s focused on uniting Ohioans on common ground.

“America’s economy is heading in the right direction: taxes are down, jobs are up, and wages are rising. These things all make a big impact in the lives of Ohioans, but as a country, we need to stop the partisan bickering and come together,” Balderson said.

Balderson was an advocate for tax reform that helped ignite America’s struggling economy. He cut taxes in Ohio, balanced the state budget, and has spent his first term in Congress fighting to solve problems that keep families from benefitting from America’s historic prosperity. He promised to stand up to those trying to revert to policies that stifle prosperity.

“I used to fix cars. Whenever I got an engine up-and-running, customers never asked me to change the motor back to the way it was when it constantly stalled out. Right now, there are politicians in Washington threatening to do exactly that with our economy,” Balderson said.

Balderson is already earning a reputation as a leader who pushes hard to move ideas that have been stalled by congressional inaction. Balderson has pushed for passage of USMCA, supported pay raises for our military, and worked on more than 30 pieces of legislation that have passed at least one chamber of Congress. So far in his first full term, six Balderson-backed bills have become law, including one that creates STEM apprenticeship programs. During the January shutdown, Balderson took action to introduce legislation to prevent future shutdowns, while also forgoing his own pay.

Balderson promised to use his second full term in Congress to continue to solve problems and try to build bridges that unite people rather than divide them.

“In Washington, there are far too many politicians whose lust for power is greater than their love of country. They’ve lost sight of our primary mission: to serve families and solve problems. As I’ve done since taking office, I will work each day to help the people of Ohio,” Balderson concluded.
Troy Balderson represents Ohio’s 12th congressional district, which includes all or parts of Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Marion, Morrow, Muskingum, and Richland Counties. He has already been endorsed by the Delaware, Franklin, and Muskingum County Republican parties.
