Welcome to the February 2019 edition of Sajid Javid MP's newsletter
WELCOME
Earlier this month, I was deeply moved by the stories of survivors at the Holocaust Educational Trust memorial event, with moving speeches from Margaret Hodge MP and Rachel Riley. It’s never been more important to learn the lessons of the Holocaust, and I will always do everything in my power to tackle hate.

It's been a busy month in the constituency; I've held a number of street surgeries so thanks to everyone who came along.  If you missed me, please remember that I’m always here if you need my help. You can get in touch with my office via sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk

Best wishes,

Sajid Javid
Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove
RECENT ACTIVITY
It was great to be back at St John's Church in Bromsgrove to see how plans for the new renovations are going.

For thousands of years, the church has been a landmark for our local community, serving as a meeting place, a market and most importantly, a place for worship.

It is imperative that we all do whatever we can to restore this beautiful Norman church.
It was a pleasure to visit The Bromsgrove Museum recently to see the new displays and artifacts on display.

The tardis like layout of the museum never fails to surprise me, as the seemingly small old coach house opens up into a large array of exhibitions once you step in.

The Norton Collection has long served as an indispensable window into our community's past and it will always have my support.

It was great to visit Worcestershire Royal Hospital recently to see the progress made by Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust, and to meet with the new Chief Executive, Matthew Hopkins.

As the local MP, ensuring that my Bromsgrove constituents have access to the best possible care has always been my top priority.

Alongside my Worcestershire MP colleagues, I have campaigned hard for the £29.6 million investment in the Trust over the past few years. This is why I was delighted to visit the newly opened link bridge which provides the main hospital with a vital connection to the new 28-bed Aconbury Ward. This welcome addition will go far in increasing bed capacity as well as easing waiting times and is all part of a series of planned improvements to ease the winter pressure for our Worcestershire hospitals.

Important work has been done, but there is still more to do and I will continue to support the hard working staff at WAHT.

It's always so good to see local businesses in Bromsgrove flourishing.

I recently headed down to The King Arthur pub to chat to constituents over their pints of Bathams.

Thanks for making me feel so welcome, and for letting me behind the bar!
It was great to catch up with the hardworking team at Bromsgrove Job Centre Plus.

It was particularly encouraging to hear how Universal Credit is helping make work pay.
It's always helpful to catch up with the team at Bromsgrove District Council to discuss what matters to my constituents.

If you want me to raise anything specific at my next meeting, let me know via sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk.
It's always a pleasure to speak at the Primrose Hospice Business Lunch, which raises money for an amazing place.

Thank you for all you do for Bromsgrove and a special thank you to Joanne Malin for hosting.
I was pleased to meet with Wythall community campaigners at the always excellent Becketts Farm.

Thank you for everything you do for local people.
It was good to catch up with the West Mercia PCC, John Campion alongside Chief Constable Gary Bangham to talk about what more we can all do to keep crime off our local streets.

Thank you to our brave and hardworking local police force who do such a good job in keeping Bromsgrove safe.
