TARGETED TOPICS FORUM IN FIJI
The Network and the Government of the Republic of Fiji co-hosted a five-day forum on topics related to the NAP process including communications, knowledge sharing, gender, and monitoring and evaluation. With financial support from the Government of Canada, this forum brought together more than 70 representatives from 21 countries for lively discussions of NAP processes. Presentations from the forum are available here.
Forum participants also had a firsthand look at a number of adaptation projects in Nadi. Read Clare Church's recap of some of the highlights.
From the forum's day on gender, read our interview with Ivonne Yupanqui Valderrama—Director General of Peru’s Department of Gender Mainstreaming from the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations—on what gender-responsive adaptation looks like in Peru.
You can also read our poster series that looks progress being made in 12 countries' NAP processes.
LEG MEETING IN SÃO TOMÉ
The Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) convened an expert meeting in São Tomé to assess progress made in the process to formulate and implement NAPs. Julie Dekens from the NAP Global Network Secretariat was on hand to provide an update based on a synthesis review of gender in NAP documents submitted to NAP Central—read her presentation and report.
