MY FAVORITE ROUTE - AUGUSTO CARNEIRO

New on our blog- Augusto Carneiro, founder of Nossa Familia Coffee, serves up the latest installment of our My Favorite Route series as a doppio, a double shot of tandem hill-climbing on one of Cycle Oregon’s most memorable climbs.
His look back at Day Four of 2014’s “The Magnificent Seven” Classic route gives us the inside look from his early morning starts to the  view from the saddle tackling Pelton Dam Road with his wife. Click here to visit our blog.

3 COOL TIPS FOR HOT WEATHER RIDING

  1. Fill your bottles 1/3 of the way full and then lay flat in the freezer the night before a ride. Fill the remaining 2/3 with water just before you roll out.
  2. Sun Sleeves from Primal Wear look like arm warmers but their super lightweight Priflex fabric actually keeps you cool while also providing UPF50 sun protection. No more gunky sun screen!
  3. Cold brew coffee!

COLD BREW FOR HOT DAYS

It’s hot and you want to enjoy some cold brew coffee on a summer’s day. But you didn’t have the foresight to prep a batch yesterday so what is a coffee lover to do? Our friends at Nossa Familia have a solution - Japanese-style iced coffee.

This brewing method, pioneered and popularized in Japan, is a quick and simple way of brewing a cold and refreshing batch of iced coffee in a matter of a few minutes. All you need is a pourover set up and some ice! Click here to head over to the Nossa Famila blog for the brewing recipe.

BONUS! - Use the code NOSSACO2020 when shopping online and you will receive 15% off your order plus Nossa Familia will make a 5% donation back to Cycle Oregon. Valid now through the end of September.

RIDE FOR A CHILD 2020

For the past 19 years, Candlelighters for Children With Cancer riders have pedaled together as a team at Cycle Oregon in support of the annual Ride For A Child fundraiser. For 2020, Ride For A Child is an online pledge platform so you can ride whenever and wherever you want to, indoors or outdoors, and at your own pace. It's a great way to connect to a team of dedicated riders and Cycle Oregon friends while helping local families.

Ride For A Child supports and raises awareness for families with childhood cancer across Oregon and SW Washington, families who now face increased isolation and financial challenges as a result of COVID-19.

PEDAL THROUGH
Analise Cleopatra had never ridden a mountain bike before and had never gone camping. Inspired by a friend, she embarked on a bikepacking adventure through the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon.

With fellow beginner Dejuanae Toliver and professional mountain biker Brooklyn Bell, Analise rode 132 miles in a soul-searching expedition that is marvelously captured in this film funded by The Oregon Made Creative Foundation and Travel Oregon
