Connecting people all over the planet
DigiEduHack going global

Russia, Canada, India, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Turkey, most European countries and many more - in all of these places, simultaneous DigiEduHack events will be arranged around the 3 October 2019.
The aim is to bring together a total number of 50 organizations hosting their own DigiEduHack, with more than 2,500 participants all over the planet creating innovative solutions to the biggest challenges that we are facing today, in the field of digital education.
The initiative for the DigiEduHack in Europe and beyond, first came from the European Commission:
"We want to improve the use of technologies for teaching and learning, ensuring that everyone has the necessary digital skills and competences, exploiting data to the benefit of education. The Digital Education Hackathon is an innovative and great opportunity to reflect on where we stand and collect actionable ideas ensuring that digital technologies are used at their best", says Begona Arano, Head of Unit, Innovation and EIT, The Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC).
DG EAC Project Managers Veronica Mobilio and Simona Petkova, are both very excited about the possible outcomes of the events, since the key learning points will be used as a basis for the new Digital Education Action Plan for Europe:
"This will be the first hackathon organised by the Commission on the future of education in a digital age, a topic that is highly relevant to all of us, young and older people, wherever we are located and whatever we are doing for a living."

That is just a small sample of all the exciting challenges that will be solved in different locations during DigiEduHack 2019. Several DigiEduHack hosts have already defined their challenges and set up their own event websites, to be ready to promote their events to participants.
On the Challenges page on the DigiEduHack website, you can access all the challenges that have been uploaded so far: https://digieduhack.com/en/challenges
