We’re excited to announce that BGX 2021 is officially slated for Friday, September 24th, 2021, at Seneca One in Downtown Buffalo!

Wait, what’s BGX again?
BGX, also known as the Buffalo Game Expo, is our annual showcase of games made in and around Western New York. We started it a few years back as a way to show folks just how great our community of creators is and give them a chance to get their hands on what's getting made.
For developers, it's a great way for you to get some direct feedback on your project you might not normally have when sharing it via social media or at a BGS meetup.
And for everyone else, it’s a fun way to spend an evening, network with other game developers in Buffalo, and learn how you too can become a game developer!
Woah, Seneca One???
Yup! We’ve partnered with Seneca One this year to deliver an awesome BGX experience, including a bar, in the heart of downtown Buffalo.
We’ll be exhibiting in the lobby, which is accessible by both car and train. We’ll provide full details on getting there as we get closer!
This year will be a bit different both because of the pandemic and the venue. We’re shaking things up a bit, and BGX will be on a Friday instead of a Saturday. We also expect things to be a bit smaller in scale - think of it as more about a focus on making deeper connections in our creator community.
Can I exhibit my game?
Yes, applications are open! No matter the kind of project you're working on, the point in development it's in, or what your plans for it are moving forward, BGX is the perfect venue to highlight it.

You can read more about our COVID policy below. We’re still working out the exact details, but if you think you can show in person on September 24th, we’d love for you to apply! We’re fully understanding if the situation changes or if at some point you no longer feel comfortable exhibiting.
COVID: Wait, isn’t there a pandemic?
Yes - the safety of all our attendees is our highest priority. We are going to continue to monitor the situation as it evolves.
We’ve been banking on the positive trends we’ve seen with the reduction in the spread of COVID-19 this Spring. Now, it looks like the picture is less clear about what the end of September might entail, but that said, we’d like to continue moving forward!
It’s been a very long year and a half, and if it’s at all possible to get back together again, we’re going to make it happen. If you or someone you know has not been vaccinated yet, we encourage you to do so and to help others do so - there is an end in sight.
We will be following all state and federal guidelines, as well as any additional guidelines imposed by the venue, at the time of the event.
As things stand at the time of writing, we require:
All attendees be fully vaccinated - we do not expect this to change
All attendees be prepared to show official proof of vaccination
If mandated, everyone be willing to social distance and wear masks
If there is a mask mandate in place on September 24th, it will be strictly enforced.
