It's one of our favorite times of year --
Bat Week!

We thought you might enjoy celebrating with us by reading about some of what we've been up to at Austin Bat Refuge, and our  Upcoming Programs
Release stories below!

Featured at Buzzfeed Animals

We were so excited when Alicia, an Austin local and Buzzfeed writer, reached out to us wanting to do a piece on our bats! We are ecstatic about how it turned out and love seeing all the bat enthusiasm in response to the video. Check it out!

Some of our most exciting releases yet!

Although we're often sad when it's time for some of our favorite furry friends to head back to the wild, it's also an amazing experience that brings us so much joy. We recently released some bats that were extremely near and dear to our heart, and now you can read all about their rescue and rehab history on our blog!
Check out Mothra, a cave myotis bat has been with us since she came to us as a two-day-old pup back in 2015. Read about how she grew up from the tiny bat we carried around in a sugar glider pouch to a strong, capable flyer ready to head back into the wild!
Who remembers this beautiful pipistrille that came to us after being found distressed and dehydrated on an apartment complex staircase? Turns out she was pregnant! Check out her story, view videos of her and her daughter, and experience their release over at the blog!

Volunteer Spotlight: Cassie & Matt

We started at ABR last March, after our friend Amy invited us to a volunteer information meeting. We both really enjoyed everything Dianne and Lee were doing with Austin Bat Refuge and made the commitment to volunteer. I have learned so much about bats and how to care for them and I look forward to it every weekend!

Can you help? The holiday season is almost upon us and that means it's almost time for Giving Tuesday, a very important fundraising day for non-profits like us.
We're looking for a company who would like to partner with us to do a donation-matching sponsorship. If you're local, we would love to have several of your company's representatives visit us at the Refuge and receive swag bags to thank you for your generosity!
If interested, please email us at info@austinbatrefuge.org!

Don't forget --
it's always a great time to love bats!

Although we enjoy all the love and attention they get during the Halloween season, we think every time of year is a great time to appreciate bats! We hope you enjoyed this newsletter and we look forward to sending you more bat news in the future.
