Our goal for these rides is to raise awareness about the food systems that exist in South Seattle as well as invite you to help advocate for healthier, fresh food options! How, you might ask? Our
Giving Gardens program is a great start! It's never too early to begin planning for next years' garden!
Questions were asked, awareness was raised, exercise was had, and new friends were made! But, it doesn't have to stop there...
Here are a few more ways you can get involved with us! We currently run four programs, all of which need YOUR help!
1.
Grocery Distribution: We distribute food to our guests twice a week on
Wednesdays and Saturdays between
9:30-2pm These two days are busy, so if you like to hustle and enjoy the excitement of meeting new people then come volunteer on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
2.
Home Delivery: We have a small but dedicated group of core volunteers who help pack groceries for our homebound neighbors. Join the team on
Thursdays from
9:00am-12:00pm
3.
To-Go bags: Prepared food, ready to eat.
Tuesday through Saturday while supplies last! We need help preparing and packing our to-go bags! Early morning to afternoon!
4.
Backpack program:
Friday mornings. Did you know close to 85% of students in South Seattle receive free or reduced lunch? We need your help to pack grocery bags so students and their families have access to food for the weekend. We also need drivers!
