Over the past few weeks, hundreds of Bromsgrove students have been collecting their exam results. Congratulations to all our young people for their hard work.
Hagley Catholic High School, who also triumphed in my Debating Competition this year, did particularly well with almost half of the students there achieving A*-B grades in their three academic A Level subjects.
Whether you're heading back to school, university, or work, I hope you've enjoyed the summer and as ever, if I can be of any assistance, please do get in touch with my office on sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk
Best wishes,

Sajid Javid
Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove

It was a pleasure to officially open the new premises of the Bromsgrove Cobbler.
Martin Connellan and his team have been trading in Bromsgrove Town Centre for over 30 years and they are stronger than ever. It is heartening to see such a good example of a resourceful, hardworking and expanding small business in our Town.
Thank you for having me.

I enjoyed my annual meeting with local farmers at the new NFU offices.
With nearly 500,000 employees, agriculture contributes £112 billion to our economy and has a major influence on our environment.
Leaving the EU creates an opportunity to design a domestic agricultural policy that’s fit for the future and we must continue to do all we can to support British farming.

A few weeks ago I met with local business owner, Emily Attwell, founder of new vegan-friendly store, Nature's Intention.
Emily's entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and passion for the environment was striking, and her passion for our community was also clear through her promotion of local produce and her support for other local businesses.
I enjoyed hearing Emily's story, and seeing the shop first-hand. I have no doubt that Nature's Intention will flourish.

I was inspired by my recent visit to local charity, Mentor Link.
CEO, Andrea Maddox MBE and her 16-person team work hard to offer crucial support to vulnerable young people through mentoring. The charity does so much to help young people to remain engaged with their family and community, attain positive lifestyle changes and achieve a successful transition to adulthood.
Last year, Andrea and her team mentored 292 young people, they really do transform lives.
Keep up the great work.

It was an honour to take part in the VJ parade at Bromsgrove's Burma Star Memorial recently.
The parade and service commemorated the 73rd anniversary of the victory over Japan at the end of WW2. We gathered together to remember the soldiers, sailors and airmen who lost their lives in the Burma Campaign.
We will never forget your sacrifice, and will forever be in your debt.

A few weeks ago, I opened the Lucy Faithfull Foundation’s new headquarters in Stoke Prior.
The Foundation works tirelessly to reduce demand for online images of children and to prevent offending before it occurs.
As Home Secretary, I have made it my personal mission to lead a cross-government crackdown in response to a 700% increase in child abuse images being referred to the National Crime Agency over the last 5 years. As part of this, on Monday I announced a package of new measures to tackle the sexual exploitation of children online.
It was a pleasure to meet the Lucy Faithfull Foundation team, and I'm grateful for all the hard work that they do.

Friday 17th August saw the official opening of the Norton Collection Museum's Bromsgrove and World War One exhibition, designed to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, and to celebrate 100 years of women's suffrage.
I'd urge everyone who can, to go along and visit the impressive collection of medals, weapons, trench art and much more.

I was incredibly impressed by my visit to our new Bromsgrove Youth & Community Hub, which opened in July.
The Hub space is being used as a drop in for young people to spend time with their friends between midday and 6pm Monday to Friday. There is also a range of coaching run by Headgym which includes helping over 16s get a job, write CVs and prepare for interviews.
Thank you to Youth and Community Hub Coordinator, Sarah Mulhall and to everyone involved in making it happen. It was very clear to me that the Hub will make a real difference to so many youngsters.
If you'd like anymore information about the Hub, or to get involved, please get in touch with Sarah: sarah.mulhall@YMCAWorcestershire.org.uk.
