Father Brown - Season 10
Based on the character made famous from GK Chesterton's short stories, the 10th series once again sees Father Brown solving a string of devilishly difficult murders. Mark Williams stars in the title role. Speaking about the success of the show,  Williams said: "I think it is about storytelling. You are being told a story every episode — and that’s what people love. It's like reading a comfortable novel. There isn't a lot of urban anger, or zombies, or dragons. The series are an antidote to what most boxsets are about nowadays." Premieres April 8 at 8pm on WPS?u-TV.

Governmental Relations

America’s Public Television Stations (APTS) is happy to report that the House Labor-HHS-Education letter in support of funding for CPB, Interconnection and Ready To Learn was signed by 138 Members of Congress, including eight Republicans. The House Homeland Security letter in support of funding for public broadcasting’s public safety infrastructure account, the Next Generation Warning System, was signed by 87 Members of Congress, including eight Republicans. Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson signed both letters and co-sponsored the House Homeland Security letter.

Each year the number of signatures on this letter continues to grow, an encouraging sign for a program which is still relatively new — and an impressive demonstration of bipartisan support for the Appropriations Committee to consider.

Both letters had a significant number of freshmen Members, including several Republican freshmen — a good harbinger of future bipartisan support.

Oh What A Beautiful Morning - Everyday
Copenhagen, Denmark — Residents of Greenland have switched to daylight saving time and moved their clocks one hour forward this weekend for the very last time. Unlike most of Europe, Greenlanders will leave their clocks untouched come autumn when daylight saving time ends. While Europe and the U.S. debates whether to stick to the twice-yearly practice, Greenland - a vast Danish semi-independent territory in the Arctic - has resolved to perennially remain only three hours behind Copenhagen and most other European countries instead of four. Greenland’s parliament, Inatsisartut, voted to stick to daylight saving time year-round on Nov. 24 last year. Officials say it will give Greenlanders another hour of daylight in the afternoons and more time to do business with Europe and farther afield.

“The shift of time zone marks an exciting new beginning, an equal connection to North America and Europe, and an opportunity to slow down in a fast-paced world,” Visit Greenland, the local government’s tourism office said in a statement. - [AP 3/27/23]
