Transatlantic Trade Realities 

On February 1, 2019, the Bretton Woods Committee in partnership with the German Marshall Fund (GMF) of the United States hosted the Bretton Woods@75 Dialogue: Transatlantic Trade Realities. Featured speakers included Karen Donfried, President at the German Marshall Fund, Gary Litman, Vice President for Global Initiatives at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Jeffrey Schott, Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics helped kick-start the event with opening remarks. Jim Kolbe, Bretton Woods Committee Co-Chair and GMF Senior Fellow, moderated the dialogue. Read More

On March 8, 2019, the Bretton Woods Committee hosted a virtual conference, Regional Spotlight: Emerging Markets Outlook. Featured speakers included Gita Gopinath, the Economic Counsellor and Research Department Director at the IMF, and Catherine Mann, the Global Chief Economist at Citigroup. Meg Lundsager, Public Policy Fellow at the Wilson Center and Bretton Woods Committee member, moderated the conversation. Read More.

Buzz Aldrin, Former Astronaut and Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot, received the Explorer’s Club Award on the 50th Anniversary of the walk on the moon, presented by Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud. 
Warren Coats, Retired IMF Assistant Director of the Monetary and Exchange Department, was awarded Outstanding Contribution for Capacity Building by the Central Banking Journal.
Martin Dahinden, Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States, was recently honored with the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce Award.
Mehmet Simsek, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, joined the Tent Partnership for Refugees' Advisory Council, where he will work among fellow leaders to advance the Tent Partnership’s mission to mobilize business to support refugees.
