Thank You from Austin Bat Refuge!
On a brutally cold evening in early January, 2018, these three free-tailed bats fell out of their roost in the bridge at Bee Cave Park.
Bat heroes Erika and Ray found them on the ground, safely contained their seemingly lifeless bodies and brought them to us at Austin Bat Refuge. Thus, the Bat Year began with the warming and revival of these beauties, and their subsequent release, during a warm spell, to their original roost.
We are so grateful to you for helping Austin Bat Refuge in the many ways all of you have contributed!  Some have brought us a bat in distress, others have expressed interest in helping us in person, as one of our valued volunteers. And we suspect that all of you have done the vital work of talking to friends, family and neighbors about how urgent it is to protect and preserve bats and the places bats live.
In 2018, thanks to your support, we have cared for hundreds of bats, of nine different species. Some have been, or will be, released back to their wild habitats; others will remain with us, their needs being met for the rest of their lives.
If it is possible for you to renew your support for Austin Bat Refuge, then please
DONATE NOW
so that we can continue to serve as a  refuge for the injured and orphaned bats that are brought to us by caring people like you.
Caring for our small corner of the bat world, one bat at a time, is our chosen mission. We firmly believe that saving and protecting bats benefits the whole community.

Make a long-term difference for our local bats! Become a sustaining member by making a tax-deductible, recurring donation!
