Community

Fabien Schuft

"I work for UDAF, a national organisation that supports families in France to live healthy, confident, independent lives. Many of our members were becoming increasingly worried about the impact of new technology, and at the same time their children were hungry to explore and create. That's when I found Code Club and started to establish the national community in France. Code Club reassures parents by showing the positive aspect of new technology, whilst giving the children the space and freedom to do interesting, creative, and amusing things on their computers.

"Thanks to the strength of the resources, materials, and support provided by the Code Club International community, we have been able to open sixty-nine Code Clubs in France, providing crucial support to hundreds of families, particularly in rural communities. This is made possible in part by how easy it is to start a Code Club - anyone can do it, even if you are parent who has never coded before! We have had big success in France to far, but we know there is a lot of work still to do; we hope to build on these strong foundations, doubling our club numbers each year to reach 2,000 by 2020!"
